Networking with Judith Guthrie Properties
A great networking breakfast was hosted by Judith Guthrie Properties at the Riverside Cafe in Durban North.  Presentations by Soo Meyer and Karen Petersen of Tongaat Hulett informed the guests of the significant commercial, industrial and residential development opportunities to the north of Durban.

Networking with ComProp and Dube Tradeport
On 26 July 2012 ComProp and Dube Tradeport hosted a networking breakfast at JAM Restaurant, Quarters Hotel.  A presentation  related to development opportunities in the iLembe Municipal District was made by acting Municipal Manager, Mike Newton and a further presentation detailing opportunities at Dube Tradeport adjacent to the King Shaka International Airport was made by Senior Manager Sales and Product development, Tim Hudson.

Networking with Garlicke and Bousfield
Garlicke and Bousfield sponsored a breakfast networking event at their offices on Thursday, 3 May.  Apart from a sumptuous breakfast, there were three presentations by senior members of the legal team related to environmental compliance, corporate responsibility and D'MOSS.  The presentations sparked much discussion and members and guests alike are keen to see how environmental practice and law will retain South Africa's natural heritage.

KZN Networking Breakfast

Environmentally Sustainable Development

On Wednesday, 13 April 2011 the KZN Regional Chapter and BoE hosted a wonderful breakfast at the Holiday Inn Express on Umhlanga Ridge. 

A great time was had by all and apart from the opportunity to network, guests were treated to three most enlightening presentations by:

Richard Humphrey of the Aurecon Group - Richard gave a fascinating broad overview of sustainable property development drawing attention to the need to design buildings in such a way as to save on electricity and water usage, with specific reference to Green Buildings and Green Building design.

Jenny Botes of GSA - Jenny spoke on the need to use the correct glass when designing buildings e.g. she highlighted the on-going savings that will be achieved in heating and cooling buildings if double glazing was used instead of normal glass.

Sharon Purchase of Return on Environment SA - Sharon presented the topic of re-cycling vs re-using and gave a most interesting presentation showing how shipping crates are dismantled and the steel bars, wood and metal sheeting used to build amongst other things, burglar guards, braais and even low-income houses.

KZN Networking Event - 8 March 2011
The KZN Chapter and sponsors Broll and TC Chetty and Associates, hosted an intimate networking event at Audacia Manor on 8 March.  Guest speaker, Beverley-Ann Fink shared with guests her personal experience of breast cancer and how to deal with life when one is thrown a curved ball.  Her presentation was followed by that of Mariane Vorster, a life coach, on how to keep the mind healthy and strong in order to deal with the curved balls when they do arrive.

KZN Chapter Networking Breakfast
On 7 May2010, BoE and the WPN KZN Chapter hosted a sumptuous breakfast and networking function at the Beverly Hills Hotel.  The breakfast was followed by a presentation by Mnady Jacinto of BoE and Lynne McMaster of Dress by Lynne, who addressed the guests with regard to looking your best and dressing for success. KZN Networking - 4 February 2010

A vibrant and fun filled networking session was hosted on 4 February 2010 by Plascon. A presentation on how to network effectively and get the most out of the opportunity was made by Charlene Lawrence of Paul Naidoo Presentations.  Romy Ras of Clarins presented some of the latest products on offer by Clarins, as well as offering all guests a free gift sample.  Other sponsors included Distell, Lindt, Southern Sun and Dress by Lynne.

Careers and Succeeding in the business World
Women’s Property Network KZN hosted a wonderful evening sponsored by Plascon with guest speakers Ipeleng Mkhari and Amelia Beattie speaking on “Succeeding in the Business World- juggling a family, a career and me!”

Amelia Beattie is COO of Old Mutual Property Investments, winner of the 5 star woman award 2008 and a mother of three gorgeous girls. Ipeleng Mkhari is chairperson of WPN, COO of Motseng Investment Holdings and mother of two beautiful daughters. They spoke from the heart about how they got to where they are, how the journey has changed and how they cope with juggling it all. In a wonderfully honest Q&A session it was evident how they had touched the hearts of the ladies present.

Lynette Ntuli, a WPN exco member briefly introduced the mentorship programme which is being piloted in Gauteng and will be coming soon to KZN. This programme is really going to benefit WPN members and details of the launch will be announced in due course.
