WPN Takes to the Course
The Women’s Property Network (WPN), Western Cape Region, hosted their first event for 2010 at the prestigious River Club in Observatory on 23 February 2010. Women from the region’s industrial and commercial property industry were treated to a few hours of golf training hosted by Lisa Mackensie from Logical Golf and were given the opportunity to play the challenging, 9 hole “mashie” course following the clinic. Sponsors for the afternoon included: Cutter and Buck and industry players, Old Mutual Investment Group Property Investments, Cavendish Square, Hermans & Roman Property Solutions and GVK-Siya Zama.
Says, WPN Western Cape Chair, Sanett Uys, “Golf is considered an executive sport and has for the most part been male dominated. The reality is that increasingly, business deals are being concluded on the golf course, and it is thus important that professional women in industry participate and become comfortable playing golf thereby enhancing business relationships and solidifying business contacts”.
Vouchers for free golf lessons and educational DVDs, courtesy of the River Club, where won by the naturally talented players that emerged on the day. The event was concluded with a wine tasting courtesy of Klipdript Gold. Judging by the number of fantastic players that emerged during the event, the Western Cape property region are sure to have seasoned female golf professionals, solidifying business transactions on the golf course!
