Nonku Ntshona, WPN Executive: "I appeared on CCN a few weeks ago with about 4 other female entrepreneurs during my US trip on Women Entrepreneurship, where I represented South Africa. This was a great programme and during the visit we were tasked to come back to our countries and start AWEP Chapters: African Women Entrepreneurship Programme. This programme is the second one - a mini one happened in 2010 after being initiated by Hillary Clinton to promote the increase of women entrepreneurs in Africa and get them export ready. It is also driven by AGOA. For those that are entrepreneurs in the commercial property sector or would be interested in being part of something like this, please let me know as we are putting together a list of 20 women entrepreneurs to invite for the launch where we will give a full background of what it stands for and also finalise our founding document. We are engaging with the deputy minister Elizabeth Thabethe to be the ambassador for advocacy for the SA chapter, as she has been pushing for women entrepreneurship. We are also engaging with SAWEN, SEDA and DTI."
